Unabridged

  1. No man, or woman, shall wear clothing or colors of clothing which unduly promote him or her to such an extent that the casual viewer does infer said person to be of a higher class than they truly are. To wit:
    1. Peasants are limited to wool, cloth and cotton of any color save purple, red, gold, or silver. Should they be bound to service to a lord, his mark must be prominently worn at all times. Peasants who are not bound to an overlord are not obliged to wear any mark on their clothing. In no situation is a peasant, bound or free, permitted to leave his head bare in public.
    2. Freemen are permitted to wear any fabric, save for silk and velvet, of any color barring purple, red, gold or silver.
    3. Gentry are permitted to wear any fabric of any color barring purple, red, gold or silver.
    4. Nobles are permitted to wear all fabrics. The limitations on color are outlined in section 6 below. Only nobles are permitted to wear elaborate headdresses, and wear their family crest in thread of gold or silver.
  2. Concerning the use of fur and skins:
    1. Exotic furs and leather are restricted to nobility and high church officials.
    2. Furs from anything that can be hunted may be worn by freemen and above.
    3. Furs from anything that can be trapped may be worn by all classes.
  3. No one, man or woman, shall wear any item or object about their body or commit any actions which mask their identity to the point of which either they or their social class is unknown while in the presence of either a Peer of the Kingdom of Lithmore or their servants, including the entirety of the Reeves.
  4. Violators to the abovementioned shall surrender the item and face a fine of no more than 400 silver pieces.
  5. Those who are branded or otherwise permanently marked or so ordered by the Reeves or Order must display that brand or mark or risk further punishment.
  6. Concerning the special colors:
    1. Cloth colored purple in its entirety may only be worn by the members of the royal bloodline of Lithmore (from the Royal Family, their Graces the Dukes of the Realm, down to the lowest of the nobility), and the Great Lords (the Lord Justiciar, the Earl Marshall, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the Cardinal). Violators shall surrender the item and be held under the charge of Impersonating a Noble.
    2. Cloth of Gold or Cloth of Silver may only be worn by the members of the royal bloodline of Lithmore, the Great Lords, Knights of the Crown, and their spouses. Violators shall surrender the item and be held under the charge of Impersonating a Noble.
    3. Cloth colored red in its entirety may only be worn by the members of the Order of King Dav. Violators shall surrender the item and face charges of Impersonating an Official of the Realm.
    4. Cloaks cut in the "bardic" style may only be worn by members of the Troubadours' Guild. Violators shall surrender the item and face charges of Impersonating an Official of the Realm.
  7. For the purposes of criminal law, the term "cloth" includes all variants, such as silk, velvet, or wool
  8. Crowns, diadems and coronets are restricted to the nobility, and shalldecree upon state occassion the rank of the attending noble:
a. Unlanded nobles and Great Lords may wear only a simple circlet of silver upon their brow.
b. Barons or baronesses may wear a circlet of silver or gold with one peak.
c. Counts or countesses may wear a circlet of silver or gold with one peak and set with a gemstone.

e. Princes or Princesses may wear a circlet of silver or gold with as many as three peaks and set with as many as three gemstones.
f. The Crown Prince or Princess may wear a circlet of silver or gold with as many as five peaks.
g. Only the King or Queen of the Realm of Lithmore may wear a circlet of silver or gold with five peaks and bearing five gemstones. (Abridgment of this subsection of the law of Sumptuary is treason)
