Statistics

The Inquisition references 7 base-statistics for characters. Each one affects the character in different ways, always with lower numbers being less effective - the higher the number, the greater the benefit. A breakdown of each statistic follows:

STRENGTH Affects how much damage is done in combat, how many items one can hold, how much weight one can carry, and is a good measure of one's physical brawn.
INTELLIGENCE Indicative of how well one can apply his or her knowledge to further increases. Ie, you may KNOW something, but how quickly you increase that knowledge is related directly to your intelligence.
WISDOM Relates how quickly you can learn a new skill, and at what rate that skill is initally learned.
DEXTERITY Is a measure of how agile your character is. A higher dexterity will reflect greater movement points, as well as reduce the characters chances of being hit in combat.
CONSTITUTION Reflects a character's physical stamina. Constitution, coupled with dexterity, determines the total 'range' of movement your character has (with regards to total movement points). It is also factored when determining resistance to spells or diseases.
CHARISMA Indirectly affects how NPC characters react to a character. Also used to factor certain 'behind-the-scenes' algorithms.
LUCK The elusive 'other' quality that is attributed to your character. Luck is used in numerous facets of the code to determine possible outcomes.

Statistics are based on a 100-point scale. The maximum your character can attain in a particular statistic is determined at creation, and is not increasable beyond that value. So while you may be above average in some respects, chances are you will not excel in all of them.

There is no 'primary' statistic. Every effort has been made to balance the way statistics work within the game.
