Policy:Name

The Inquisition is set in the middle ages era. Names should reflect that. The administration reserves the right to require a player to change his or her name. Names from popular book series are not permitted. Should you be asked, at any time, to change your name, you have the right to be told the reason, and to appeal your name to the highest IMM or IMP on *AT THAT TIME*. If told at that time you must still change your name, you must supply a name within 15 minutes or one will be chosen for you.

This name policy is not meant to restrict the scope of your RP. If you choose to go by "Deathman", that is your right. Your name, codewise, will still need to be some form of either a true, given name (like "bob") or a fantasy name which a mother would reasonably dub her child. Meaning:

Bob says, "I am Deathman. Fear me." <--is acceptable.
Deathman says, "I am to be feared." <--would be asked to namechange.

The Immortals of The Inquisition can change your name for you; there is no need to recreate. Having had a name for XXX period of time does not obviate you being held to the standard.

Finally, if your name is so similar to another that there may be confusion between the two of you, you will be asked to change your name. The person who must change is generally whomever is newer to the game. As a general rule, names which have more than four of their first letters in common are too similar, and will be asked to change.
