The Merchants Guild

Information

The merchants guild represents that group of persons which provide services for profit. This ranges from aspects as simple as herb sellers to language teachers, from jewelers to blacksmiths, scribes and more.

Sigil (Merchants)

A Gold Coin

The accepted symbol of the Merchants Guild, like many of the items they produce, is a fine balance between aesthetic and functional. It is simply a stylized gold coin, the visible face displaying both sides, with the crown around the chalice. While the symbolism is fairly obvious - the crown around the chalice representing the Monarch's reign over the Order - the fact that the gold of the coin encompasses both leaves some to interpret this as a subtle, arrogant dig at the two most powerful entities in the realm. While merchants certainly support both church and crown, they claim that some people just read too far into it, finding "hidden meanings" where there are none.

Sigil (Physicians)

A Winged Staff

The winged staff's representation is two fold. In the foreground of the sigil we see a wooden staff, showing the guild's purpose in supporting the people of Lithmore. The winged aspect indicating the guild's secondary purpose in continuous research and development of new medical practices, symbolizing their ability to heighten the support it currently offers to citizens.
